Ideas and Opportunities for putting Faith into Action

Oct. 10/11 and Oct. 17/18 INDIAN CLOTHING DRIVE.
Did you see the advertisement in the bulletin? Please go through your closet and collect the coats for the needy. Bring them to the parish and we will see that they get to the people who need them on the reservations. Can you stay a few minutes to help sort and pack items for the truck? Many hands make light work!

Saturday, Oct 17 COME GLEAN THE FIELDS!
Our Justice and Peace Committee is hosting a day of “gleaning” the fields. This is a hands-on opportunity to help clear the fields that the migrants have worked in for the winter and help build the warehouse of food that COMPA distributes weekly to those families in need. Watch for sign up after mass. It is a “great awakening” for family awareness of poverty in our city. We’ll meet at the parish, carpool and work together to gather food for those who need it.

Saturday, Oct 24 MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY
There are many people in our parish who need you! They may be disabled, hurt or elderly, but have no one around to help clean the yard, spiff up the house or help clean the garage. Can you help? Watch for opportunities after Mass to SIGN UP to help!

We will be housing 14 people (families only) each week. We will provide a place to sleep, food for breakfast and lunch, dinner will be served each evening. We need many people to help make this a success. We need people to provide foods, to bring, cook and serve dinner one night. We need help to prepare for our guests, help to clean up after our week with the families, and people to volunteer to sleep on site one night during the week. We will have a sign up two weeks prior to the event. Can you mark your calendar now?

We always have opportunities for you to share your time and talent with us! Please read the bulletin and log on to our web site, www.spiritofchrist.org.
